Hello! My name is Vic, but I sometimes go by Bup or Buppy. I'm a 27 year old nonbinary artist with a focus on expressing feelings related to loss of bodily autonomy and feeling less than human. One of my favorite materials to work with is clay, I have always been drawn to its satisfying sensory experience. I also greatly enjoy small but heavy objects, which is highly achievable with ceramics. My favorite objects to make are animal related, and I often use dove and dog imagery in my works. To me, they represent the coexistance of pacifism and bloodthirsty rage that often swells inside those who were abused and do not want to become like the abuser. There is no greater shame than being a traumatized individual who lashes out at safe loved ones when startled or threatened. I will make the abused dog and the curious dove inside myself find comfort in each other and navigate a world of threat and fear in collaboration.
